Well a few people have been asking about why we didn't have a presentation evening this year in February as we have done every other year. It does take months of planning and practise to put on a show like we have in the past. After alot of thought, we feel it would be bad for our students if we didn't do anything at all. So we have decided to do a presentation evening, and have it in May (Baby depending). For those of you who have never been to one, its basically an awards evening, with trophies for students of the year etc, with a black belt demo. and disco and bar. It usually attracts around 250 people and makes a great night out. One of the practise sessions from the last one can be seen below. In the past we have done a power rangers theame, Star Wars, Kill Bill. This year we still hope to produce something a little different. We will be calling for the help of our senior black belts. Please keep checking back for ticket details and dates. Mock Black belt grading Test Friday 5th March at St Christopher School. 6pm Start. This is a pre test to the first APTI national grading to be hosted in Coventry which we are proud of. Good luck to everyone taking the pre grading. Master Ferguson has cancelled this years summer camp. Speaking to several TST members who were all very disapointed. I know that this year we could have doubled last years attendance from Coventry, but the other areas don't seem as enthusiastic. So well done Coventry again, one of the smallest APTI clubs, but always the best support by a long shot. Due to all your interests I will try and host a TST camp, even if just locally for a day or two, and I will deffinatly bring the seminars to Coventry. Master Gayle had agreed to do a seminar on the camp, and I have already asked Master Ferguson to ask if we can now have him in Coventry for what will be a great seminar. I have had privet classes with Master Gayle and he is very very good at it. So if you interested in patterns theres no question in my mind that Master Gayle is one of the best. And as for Sparring well we hope to have Tony Sewell down to and any one that saw him on the summer camp last year I'm sure will agree that he is in a league of his own reguards sparring, never seen any thing like that awsome. I will not be able to commit to the event this year as with Zoe due on the 17th, cutting it a bit fine, to be rushing to Derby hospital (I struggled enough to find the hall for Choi seminar) So any senior grades that want to look after the TST group on the day, checking rings etc making sure everyone gets to where they need to be would be great, especially if we have juniors entering again this year. Chris Robbins won a Gold for sparring and Bronze for patterns Chris Mutton a Silver for patterns and Bronze for sparring Dale Stansfield a Bronze for Sparring Tony Pleaseance a Bronze for sparring So a total of 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 Bronzes from 4 entries very impressive guys well done, proud of you all.

We have just received information from the Trân family regarding the discovery of Grand Master Trân from the rubble of the Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. RIP from all at TST Next grading is March 5th, this will be a coloured belt grading and a pre-black belt grading. St Christopher School 6pm Start. By invitation only. Carlisle trip, open to all February 13th to 16th, a social event, book your own room (see us for details of places to stay) Train at Carlisle TKD in special FREE classes, and then a optional social event "Paintballing". Well done to all who graded on Friday night, everybody did really well, the standard was great, in particular the 11 members who took their last grading under me (their Black stripes) all did very well indeed, and I'm certain you will all make excelent black belts come May 2nd. Tomorrow Tuesday 15th the last day for Christmas party payments. Master Ferguson Sparring class will be on Monday 14th December, usual times, cadets and adults only. Payment in advanced if possible please. Please note this class will take place in the infant hall, not the junior hall. |
