| Congratu;ations to Mr & Mrs Ian Ferguson who were married yesterday at Nailcote Hall Coventry, A great day was had by all. At the wedding and talking to some true TaeKwon-Do legends we sealled a few dates for your diary (not finalised dtaes yet) September- Patterns seminar with Master's Gayle and Ogbourne-Coventry (open to TST students and APTI instructors only at first) October half term-Social trip to Carlise new full time centre, and a Go Ape plus meal February- World Championships hosted by PUMA TaeKwon-Do open to all APTI black belts. More info to follow. I'd like to take this oppertunity to thank ITV and in particular Louisa James, not only was she at our house and club from 4:30pm until about 6:00pm She filmed it all, she did all the interviews, she edited it into a great piece, we then got up the next day and she was reading the news on GMTV at 6:00am. Great job. Here is the full clip, I have left the others below as I think the comments from the studio both before and after are very good also. Tzion Tizick featured on ITV news last night, Below are the 2 clips I took with my phone off the laptop, as I missed it. When I get a better copy I will replace these. ITV News came to the club last night and filmed Mr, Mrs and Tzion Tizick for about 3/4 of an hour. We did sa ju jirugi all together and some pad work, some sparring and breaking, while they filmed at several different angles. Mr Tizick was then interviewed, followed by an interview with both Mrs Tizick and Tzion together. The film was supposed to be aired live but due to other more important news it has been recoreded to be played within the next few weeks. We have been told it could be today or it could be next week, we will get a call to tell us and we will do our best to let as many people know as possible, however we will be sent a copy to put on the website for any one who misses it. Channel 5 have also been in touch, and wanted to do interviews at our house this morning, however as Tzion is on a gymnastic course today we declined the offer, they may well now turn up to a class at TST to film and interview, again we will post more when we have the information. Tzion Tizick will be on ITV Central news tonight at 6:00pm doing TaeKwon-Do Tzion Tizick made the front page of the Coventry telegraph today as well as a full page write up on page 3. He was also mentioned on Mercia radio. Zoe had a call this morning that the national news papers want to run a story on Tzion too. 
I had a few stats for the website which I thought were very encouraging and proof that the internet is still one of, if not THE best meothod of getting our message out. From end of August we will be starting Adult beginner only classes on a Thursday, we have 3 adverts going out, as well as sponcering the football championship fixtures this year. We will also be offering all juniors and warriors parents a deal to train while their kids do, in a separate room. All adults will recieve a bring a friend along too, we may offer members who do bring in a new member an insentive as well. Its nice to have a club full of blackbelts but we do need to start new commers coming through all the time to keep the system and club's long term future going. We did a 1/2 hour slot, and merged in some of the tiny kids along with the experienced black belts, to put on a good display. If I get around to it I'll put some highlights on youtube. Next coloured belt grading Friday 16th July 2010, 6:00pm at St Christophers. Fingers crosseed Tzion will be out first ever 3 year old grader, if he keeps practising. Our 2010 Presentation evening, will take place on the 9th July at Christ the King Social Club, Coundon, We sold over 80 tickets on the first night so sales going very well. All black belts who have not yet had their certificates presented at an awards night, will have theirs presented at this one, So if you graded last year and have your certificate but would like it officially presented, please bring it on the day of the presentation and make us aware you want it presenting. Please note there is only room for 200 people to be seated, and in the past we have sold over that, so if you wish for a big group to attend please book early. TST did a short Demo at the Park Hill school Fete on Saturday, it really was short, we were struggleing for numbers, and some that did come were injured and we had to tweek on the day, but all in all we did a good demo even if short, and certainly got rid of the 100 or so flyers, so people were obviously impressed. Well done to all who took part and thank you for giving your time to the club. Tzion finished the demo with his breaking which went down well. We will be at St Christophers School next Saturday also doing a demo, hope to see you there. It is with great pleasure that I can say Master Ferguson has been awarded 7th Dan grade by PUMA TaeKwon-Do. I think we will all agree, no one deserves it more. The amount of hard work and effort Master Ferguson puts in to TaeKwon-Do and the APTI often goes unseen by members, but I can assure you all we are very lucky to have such a Master as ours. Congratulations Master Ferguson from everybody at TST Coventry. May 21st is the date for the next coloured belt grading. As always it is by invitation only. Our post Black belt grading celebration on May 2nd has taken some sorting out, originally we were going to go for a pub meal, but no where seems to want a booking of over 40 people (Very strange). So we have managed to get hold of the room we have for our pub quiz, and we will see about a buffet idea and let people know. It will be opened to all students not just graders. On Sunday 25th April, we will be having southern TKD instructor Stacey Hewson with us to help her out as she looks to open a new APTI school near Portsmouth later this year. Our forum is popular with alot of members who like to stay in touch, ask questions, and generally chat with each other. In fact the stats on there say that 52 members have made 4257 posts, so as you can see it's a lively place. There is also a Team Sparring eventfor students 15 years & older.This is a friendly competition, with the emphasis on fun, fair play and sportsmanship, which is why its‘invite only’. St Christopher School, Monday 15th March, 7:00pm until 8:15pm. All adult members welcome, as well as bigger juniors (Cadets). The cost of the session is £5:00. With the ITF midlands around the corner, and black belts gradings for some, who remember need to complete 10 rounds free sparring, this is a great oppertunity to gain that extra fitness needed. Well a few people have been asking about why we didn't have a presentation evening this year in February as we have done every other year. It does take months of planning and practise to put on a show like we have in the past. After alot of thought, we feel it would be bad for our students if we didn't do anything at all. So we have decided to do a presentation evening, and have it in May (Baby depending). For those of you who have never been to one, its basically an awards evening, with trophies for students of the year etc, with a black belt demo. and disco and bar. It usually attracts around 250 people and makes a great night out. One of the practise sessions from the last one can be seen below. In the past we have done a power rangers theame, Star Wars, Kill Bill. This year we still hope to produce something a little different. We will be calling for the help of our senior black belts. Please keep checking back for ticket details and dates. Mock Black belt grading Test Friday 5th March at St Christopher School. 6pm Start. This is a pre test to the first APTI national grading to be hosted in Coventry which we are proud of. Good luck to everyone taking the pre grading. Master Ferguson has cancelled this years summer camp. Speaking to several TST members who were all very disapointed. I know that this year we could have doubled last years attendance from Coventry, but the other areas don't seem as enthusiastic. So well done Coventry again, one of the smallest APTI clubs, but always the best support by a long shot. Due to all your interests I will try and host a TST camp, even if just locally for a day or two, and I will deffinatly bring the seminars to Coventry. Master Gayle had agreed to do a seminar on the camp, and I have already asked Master Ferguson to ask if we can now have him in Coventry for what will be a great seminar. I have had privet classes with Master Gayle and he is very very good at it. So if you interested in patterns theres no question in my mind that Master Gayle is one of the best. And as for Sparring well we hope to have Tony Sewell down to and any one that saw him on the summer camp last year I'm sure will agree that he is in a league of his own reguards sparring, never seen any thing like that awsome.
